Love Story: Ray and I originally met while in high school 8 years ago. Now, as we reminisce about that time in our lives, we realize that we were crazy about each other, but being nervous teens, we never expressed our “mutual crush”. Sadly, we let that opportunity slip away and both went our separate ways. In March, 2006 we ran into each other at the grocery store where he was working part-time. We talked for a little while trying to catch up on old friends. All of the feelings from high school came rushing back and I suddenly found myself going to the grocery store multiple times a day in hopes that I would “accidentally” bump into him and muster enough courage to give him my phone number or ask for his. As luck (or fate) would have it, in April 06 we had another “accidental” meeting and I gave him my phone number and anxiously awaited his call……which never came. Just when I thought he would never call and my chance was once again lost, he sent me a message on MySpace – all of my “grocery shopping” had finally paid off and I felt like I was sitting on top of the world. A few days later he called – we talked a lot - sometimes for hours at a time – he wasn’t as ready to jump in with both feet as I was – so we compromised and agreed to be friends and see where that took us. After a few short months, I had won his heart. By September 2006 we were officially a couple. On May 16th we went up to my small hometown in Minnesota, where he proposed on the lake I grew up on. It was the perfect setting with the perfect man. Our reuniting has been a dream (that we never want to wake from) and it’s only befitting that our wedding should be a “dream come true”.
